Alignment

Alignment

We must challenge all the ways we currently think and and ask with our heart, 'is this really true?'. There is a silent knowing. A settled knowing that only you know. Society and the desire to belong is so powerful that we often sell ourselves our own story so we can fit in, make enough money, get by. But at the cost of our true purpose? At the cost of true happiness? At the cost of our souls? To not truly be you or me, well perhaps death is a more authentic option because it is not embracing the gift of YOUR life, of what living really feels like. Living is messy and imperfect and learning and re-shaping until the home of your body feels truly in alignment with you and only you.

It's scary to question everything you know. And its the only way to truly know if you actually believe the soup you've cooked and created all these years. Don't be afraid. It is the medicine you need. Sip slowly. Eat in small bites. Let it nourish and fill you with just the right things for your particular journey on this planet.

It is scary to turn over all those rocks that are so beautifully laid out and arranged, looking so pretty and together. But underneath there, there is another life. One that moves and changes despite what it might look like on the surface. Be like the ebb and flow of tides. Letting the change happen. Admitting you didn't quite get it right according to you, and committing not to perfection, but that you will lift those rocks until you do. It can be playful, just like children on a beach. Curious about what they will find beneath, curious about the unexpected. Sometimes you find nothing and you can embrace that too. Living is an action. It is not buttoned up. It evolves and changes and that is what makes the journey so magnificent and magical.

I recently read a passage that offered a story. If mankind were given a power that would let them control and determine their experiences and then given a button they could push that would erase all memory of that control and return them to not knowing what lies ahead, that it wasn't a question of whether they would push the button; it was a question of when they would push it. Sure, at first we would spend a great amount of time having experiences we wanted. Then we would begin to set up challenges for ourselves 'for the fun of it' or to make thing interesting. And eventually we would be bored of all the control and push that button to return to mystery of our lives unfolding. Think about it. And why? Because that is the definition of life. 'Life- the ability to grow, change, etc., that separates plants and animals from things like water or rocks'. Change takes being open to experiences that teach and grow and change us. And learning and expanding only happens when new thoughts, patterns and habits replace the one's we thought were serving us. We have to let go of old ways in order to move into new ways of being.

So don't be afraid. Open wide, like a child and ask yourself what you've been taught and what you truly believe. I bet you'll be filled with childlike wonder at the you that is under there, just waiting for her time to speak and be witnessed.

'What you are is magnificent;

what we believe we are is so limited.

We don’t need to carry on this personal story.

It is not contributing to the beauty and freedom of your life.

Don’t be enslaved by the conditioned or indoctrinated mind.

It wants you to make anniversaries out of your pain—forget about it.

You don’t have to be so loyal, so faithful

to any tendency that causes suffering.

Often we ruminate over the past, not in order to be free,

but to strengthen the sense of ‘me’.

We say we can’t change the past, but yes you can!

Did you perceive it right in the first place?

Who is to say your perception is a fact?

It would be a futile and unending task

to search for the innumerable strands that have contributed

to the person you take yourself to be; mostly they are untraceable.

Better just drop the whole thing

and thus remain empty of conceptual debris.

Be fresh every moment.

Be as fresh as consciousness—history-less and happy.'
