Therapeutic approach…

(or, how I can help…)

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Therapeutic Approach:

My therapeutic approach is best described as eclectic and is based on a person-centered and existential philosophies. How you make meaning of your life experience and live within your values, needs, and spirituality is what I am here to help you discern for yourself. This can offer a clear container for your life where your mind, body, and actions are aligned. This congruency is what I strive for.

I am also very passionate about deep intimate relationships and how to help people love each other more. I will incorporate and am training in somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, existential, attachment-based, and psychodynamic therapies in my work. I am currently in training for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) accreditation that is primarily aimed at identifying and healing attachment wounds that manifest in the system of a relationship. I am also training towards Sex Therapy Certification. I feel very passionate about this work as far as learning to deeply and honestly relate to one another and bring in the sensual as well as the spiritual component in sex and intimacy.

I offer a container of deep presence and unconditional acceptance. I believe that therapy helps most when it is from strengths based philosophy where you can allow all of yourself to unfold so you can know yourself and what you desire better and bring those into alignment with one another. I believe in empowering clients to make decisions that serve their particular offering and way in this world, and I work to help you find what is right by you. My role is to help you remove the barriers that keep you from being your most whole, passionate, and fulfilled self.

I feel an immense amount of love and compassion for the humans in my care. Perhaps this is the number one thing I hear from my clients when they are in tears. “I just feel so loved and grateful for your compassion”. I also will offer you a strong clear mirror so you can actually make changes in the areas of your life that you have been wanting for so long to do so.

What You Can Expect From Therapy with me

My goal is to come along side you and help you really see and hear the truths within yourself. Sometimes it can be a bit scary to look at these places we’ve kept hidden. If you feel vulnerable or exposed at time, I want to assure you that is part of the process of peeling the layers back, which at first can be uncomfortable. Depending on your needs, we may develop goals together and periodically take stock of how we are working toward them, we may learn tools and I may ask you to practice them in between sessions. We will be building strength while we are peeling layers back making you stronger to hold and access all parts of you.

 Investment

My full fee for sessions is $180/hour. I do not accept insurance at this time.

For couples and families, I recommend a 90 minute session which would be billed at $270.
